Following a thorough review process, UNV has updated the Conditions of Service (COS) for International and National UN Volunteers. The resulting changes take effect from 1 October 2021.

This update of Conditions of Service fulfills the following goals:

• Consolidation of terms and conditions into a unified Conditions of Service document
• Greater equity and equality in benefits and entitlements provided to UN Youth Volunteers
• Streamlined Code of Conduct and updated disciplinary measures
• Flexible design for adaptation to evolving needs of UN system
• Simplification of UN Volunteer entitlements for management efficiency and effectiveness
